Limb Prosthetics
In the beginning, Prosthetic legs were pieces of wood that carved to match the limb shape of the person wearing it. This took tremendous skill and patience. Once a leg was made, a person wore it as long as they could stand it.
Over the years we have improved the our methods and now use lightweight carbon fiber composite materials to make a stronger, lighter prosthesis. Specialized feet have been developed to increase shock absorption, improve walking speed and help athletes run once more.
A prosthesis may be modified to acheive a better fit if needed and better fit may be possible for you. Evaluations are always free, and usually insurance will pay for new components if they are needed.
Orthotics
It is a very exciting time in the area of Orthotics. The last decade has produced some of the most significant advancements since the use of plastic.
Lightweight space age materials and new technology are being adapted to the traditional brace designs, allowing us to create highly customized solutions.
